Court: One pickleball court; use the named half-court lanes when instructed

Equipment:paddles, pickleballs

Run the drill

  2. Rally five balls crosscourt, then five down the line; keep feet active and change sides halfway.

Timing: about 10 minutes for the whole block.

Roles and rotation

2 players

  • Players 1 and 2: cooperative baseline partners following the same direction pattern

Rotate: Change the initiating player and court side halfway through the block.

Repetitions: Both players hit on every rally and receive comparable forehand and backhand work. Split the working time evenly.

4 players

  • Players 1 and 2: cooperative rally pair in the left half-court lane
  • Players 3 and 4: cooperative rally pair in the right half-court lane

Rotate: Each pair changes the initiator and switches lane or court side halfway.

Repetitions: Two independent rallies keep all four players hitting continuously. No added time is required.

Targets and cues

Common failure: Rushing the next contact before the player has recovered position.

Good miss:A purposeful miss made while following the stated target and movement cue.
