  2. Work straight and crosscourt from both sides, then swap roles while preserving generous net margin.

Timing: about 10 minutes for the whole block.

Roles and rotation

2 players

  • Player 1: kitchen feeder; supplies neutral balls to the named baseline angle
  • Player 2: baseline hitter; alternates drops and drives to the named target

Rotate: Swap feeder and hitter halfway through; each hitter works both baseline sides.

Repetitions: Each player receives equal baseline hitting time. Split the working time evenly.

4 players

  • Players 1 and 2: feeder and hitter in the left half-court lane
  • Players 3 and 4: feeder and hitter in the right half-court lane

Rotate: Each lane swaps feeder and hitter halfway; change angles by round.

Repetitions: Two independent lanes keep all four players active with equal hitting turns. No added time is required.

Targets and cues

Common failure: Rushing the next contact before the player has recovered position.

Good miss:A purposeful miss made while following the stated target and movement cue.
