Set up
Put an attacker at the kitchen and a resetter in midcourt; use a basket so the sequence can continue after misses.
Court: One pickleball court; use the named half-court lanes when instructed
Equipment:paddles, pickleballs
Run the drill
- The kitchen attacker speeds balls toward body and backhand; the defender resets every ball into the kitchen.
- Count consecutive clean resets toward fifty; restart the streak after an error and swap before fatigue changes technique.
Timing: about 14 minutes for the whole block. Use the stated repetition goal as a target and the scheduled block time as a hard ceiling.
Roles and rotation
2 players
- Player 1: kitchen attacker; sends repeatable pace toward the body and backhand
- Player 2: midcourt resetter; blocks every ball softly into the kitchen without countering
Rotate: Swap attacker and resetter halfway through the block.
Repetitions: Each player receives equal attacking and reset streak time. Split the working time evenly.
4 players
- Players 1 and 2: kitchen attackers; alternate or combine controlled attacks
- Players 3 and 4: midcourt resetters; each protects their lane and avoids countering
Rotate: Attacking and resetting teams swap ends halfway through the block.
Repetitions: All four players contact throughout, then receive equal time in the opposite role. No added time is required.
Targets and cues
- Build the longest possible streak toward 50 resets that land in the kitchen and cannot be attacked down.
- Use grip pressure around three or four out of ten and redirect compactly into the middle of the kitchen.
Common failure: Rushing the next contact before the player has recovered position.
Good miss:A purposeful miss made while following the stated target and movement cue.
